Just had their breakfast burrito and it was everything a breakfast burrito should be. Perfect amount of spice (not super spicy) and everything was piping hot. Not to mention they give you 2 packets of taco sauce. If you have not had it I highly recommend. Also, I had to try their homemade ham and cheddar scone. Came warm and it was so delicious.

Only go there when I get paid. Service is good, food is good. I like their breakfast burritos. Just a little pricey.

It's always a welcome to come here. They have great service, are super friendly, and the food is extremely high quality. Good ingredients and good recipes.!!! Also if you actually are eating there, they have a good set up for such a small place on the skyway. Comfortable one-seater couches, multiple tables on the side right outside the shop, and a high table or two inside as well. Very cafe-ish. Very cozy.

I used to work along the skyway closer to here but hadn't been back here for awhile and decided to take a field trip... I picked up their breakfast burrito which is always amazing. AMAZING. A M A Z I N G!

It's sssooo good! Chorizo, cream cheese, eggs in a flour tortilla, served with packets of taco sauce. Super simple, but really good!

Would definitely come back here again. If they had a daytime / evening restaurant in a convenient location I would be looking to go to try their food.! If you're in the skyway this is a place to not forget.

Great food. We went there for valentines thus week.  We were going to run a bit late for the 5 pm seating. (Led to believe it was a pre fixed menu which was ok)
Called to let them know we were on our way.  We were informed that res. Was at 5, table needed to be turned by 6.   Imagine my surprise as I stood outside in the cold for almost 8 min watching 5 or 6 people rushing around inside still setting up.  (We really drove fast to drop me off at thebdoor just before 5) We were finally let in, seated and then waited, got set ups and water, waited for server.  (most of what appeared to be the staff were still rushing around to get the place ready for dinner) Place had 1 other couple that was seated before the doors opened.  Finally a GREAT waitress, Jennifer, came by.  Wonderful experience after a very poor start.  Would have walked out of Jennifer had not stopped by to wait on us.

I tell ya, this little corner of the skyway is a hidden gem what with Max's, Skyway Wok, and Dagwood's all being kiddie corner from each other.
I have typically frequented the other two over the past year but I finally tried Max's a couple weeks ago and am hooked! Not sure why it took me so long, I guess it just LOOKED like a basic bitch to me. Soups and sandwiches? meh.
Trust me though, it is far from being a Basic B.
I am looking forward to slowly working my way through most of their menu, lol.
Here's what I've got to say thus far:

Mango Smoothie: 5/5 - creamy, delicious, super mango-y.

Marshmallow Hot Cocoa: 2.5/5 - good base chocolate flavor but entirely too sweet. You might want to pour some coffee in it later to balance out the sweetness and turn it into a "mocha" instead.

Double Choc Chip Muffin: 5/5 - large and in charge, moist, super chocolate-y

Cuban Panini (xtra pickle, please!): 4/5 - Good texture, delicious, greasy; a hot mess, in a good way.

Ham & Cheddar Scone: 5/5 - this is where it's at. NOT dry and crumbly, moist and savory. Maybe get 2.

Hot tip: The food comes out of window that is clandestinely hid behind a small barn style door in the back of the cafe - they whip the window open when your order is ready and if you don't know that it's there, and you're standing next to it when it opens, it might scare the crap out of you. But if it does, you'll likely make the cook laugh.

Bonus: The chicken noodle "soup of the day" SMELLS phenomenal, you can smell it a-cookin' even at 7:30am. Will try soon.

Extra Bonus: Service has always been ON POINT. Smiles, good attitude - love it. They also play really great music - I can't believe I heard some Shakey Graves! Also, although the place is small, if you can snag a spot to eat inside it is a nice little escape from the drab skyway tables. Nice and cozy feeling, especially in the winter.

I'll be back, Max! And I am going to try ALL of the things.
